Weather in Serbia

The climate in Serbia is an enjoyable mild continental climate where the winters are cold and summers are warm. Northern Serbia weather is a typically continental climate with humid and hot summers, cold winters and evenly distributed rainfall during the year. However, southern Serbia experiences a Mediterranean climate where summers are hot and dry and winters are relatively cold with heavy snowfall in the interiors.

In winter, the minimum temperature in Belgrade in January is around -3 °Celsius while the maximum temperature is 3 °Celsius. The skiing season runs from November to March. Winter precipitation in most parts of Siberia causes snowfall. The northern plains get around 40 days of snow while the southern mountains have almost 120 days of snow.

The maximum summer temperature in Belgrade in July is around 27 °Celsius while the minimum summer temperature hovers around 16 °Celsius.

The annual rainfall in Serbia ranges between 560 millimetres and 1900 millimetres. However, the quantity of rainfall depends on the exposure and height of the area. Much of the rainfall occurs in late autumn and late spring. Vojvodina receives the least rain in Serbia.

The ideal time to visit in regards to the climate in Serbia is during the summer and spring months.
